About the Artist
Brianna Ruvo, was born and raised in Las Vegas Nevada, and currently resides in Incline Village Nevada. Brianna is an artist attending Sierra Nevada College’s BA program.
Her work is mixed media based, using anything from paint, clay, to sculpting materials, especially with found objects. Brianna has had many medical struggles growing up and still today, so as an artist she has been inspired to use her art to cope with the difficulties from each experience. By viewing her art, she intends for you to draw her emotion she put in the work, and understand the suffering she has been through.
Although the pain is a constant reminder, Brianna is empowered by her accomplishments allowing her to focus on this present moment as it comes. Her focus as of now is to branch out from her art, but still use a medical metaphor, such as artist Damien Hirst.
She intends to keep her creative juices flowing by staying emerged in the art world where she finds inspiration everywhere. Moving to her next phase, Brianna plans to expand her horizons by working in much larger scale, asides from her previous true to scale work. As most artists are still in school, Brianna is still searching for her true artistic passion, but believes her installation for MAPR (Midway Art Portfolio Review) was a good first step in the right direction.
